Crisis deals with problems that develop and change as the committee goes on. 
Characters, not Countries
Delegates usually represent individual people with their own power, resources, and goals. If they do represent countries, they usually have direct control of that country as the head of state or an important official. 
 Directives and Updates
Crisis has extra people, called backroom staff, that are in charge of making the committee change. Delegates interact with backroom staff through Directives-notes written in character with specific actions-and backroom staff interacts with delegates via Crisis Updates.
