Rules of Procedure
Below is the link to the GRIFFMUN Rules of Procedure. All of our chairs and vice chairs are well versed in these rules, and we suggest that all delegates understand the rules as well.
Resolutions
GriffMUN prides itself on its integrity for the processes and procedures that are inherent to the real United Nations. This includes the format in which resolutions are proposed and voted upon. This format addresses the two main types of substantive proposals: resolutions and amendments.
In committee, resolutions will be written by the collaboration of several member nations in agreement during substantive. These resolutions as soon as they are completed should be submitted to the chair to be added to the docket. The chair will explain how to do this on the day of the conference. All resolutions must be addressed in at least one substantive speech in order to be recognized in the voting bloc. All speeches during substantive debate should focus on solutions, rhetoric, and issues within substantive proposals. Since every delegate will have access to a laptop, resolutions will be circulated electronically for review and delegates will be allocated a short reading period before voting bloc in which they may review resolutions and formulate their voting decision.
