Committee Information: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will discuss two very different topics: Utilizing Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Gender Equality. The discourse taking place in committee will serve to not only expand your knowledge of an emerging technology that has useful potential and applications in every industry, but also stimulate your brains and creativity to find new, innovative ways on promoting gender equality and finding ways to combine both topics. I hope that your research into these fascinating topics makes you realize the unlimited potential of robotics and AI, and allow you to use that knowledge to make leaps in gender equality and female empowerment. |

Committee Information: UNHCR, acronym for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, is the UN Refugee Agency. UNHCR’s primary goal is to grant all peoples “the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle.” During emergencies, like the refugees being displaced by climate change, and addressing the future of the world through technology, the UNHCR works to provide basic necessities and shelter for displaced peoples. By sending aid, safeguarding individuals, and protection, the UNHCR hopes to help rebuild broken lives of refugees to live the lives they deserve. |

Committee Information: Welcome brothers and sisters to the Wakandan Council. This is the council that was formed to advise the current king of Wakanda, T’Challa, in decisions that impact Wakanda. In committee, we will be holding a meeting of the Wakandan Council, plus a few special guests. This will be set in the MCU, post-Killmonger, in a Wakanda that is divided over whether the lessons of Killmonger held any truth, and it is the council’s job to decide on what action should be taken (for this committee’s sake, the true status of Wakanda hasn’t been revealed yet and isn’t a part of the UN). |

Its current priorities include HIV/AIDS, Ebola, malaria and tuberculosis; the mitigation of the effects of diseases such as sexual and reproductive health, development, and aging; nutrition, food security and healthy eating; occupational health; substance abuse. As of 2016, WHO has over 196 countries working together to make this planet a safe and healthy place for everyone. |
